A 33-year-old Nigerian national was arrested near Kashmere Gate here for possessing 3 kg of heroin worth Rs 15 crore, police said today.
Ekene Kenneth Onyetobe was arrested on June 24 following a tip-off, they said.
The high-grade heroin worth Rs 15 crore in the international market was seized from his bag, police said.
During interrogation, he revealed that he used to work with another Nigerian, who used to get supply of heroin from his counterparts in Afghanistan, P S Kushwah, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), said.
The heroin was being smuggled in India from Afghanistan through Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir, the accused told the police.
The Afghan couriers used to hand over the consignment of heroin to persons of African origin in Delhi.

Heroin was being further supplied to drug dealers in Delhi and Punjab. They also used to send consignments of heroin to other countries, including England, France, Canada and South Africa, through courier companies with the help of their associates, said the DCP.
The accused also revealed that the seized heroin was to be delivered to a Punjab-based drug dealer. He had been supplying the heroin to other Punjab-based drug peddlers from the past 1-and-a-half years along with his Nigerian associates.
He has already supplied more than 50kg of heroin to different parties in Punjab, the DCP said.
