Police had got a tip off yesterday that a foreign national involved in trafficking of drugs to a foreign country would come at Dwarka Mor, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.
"A trap was laid and a man, identified as Stanley Bright (26), presently residing in Uttam Nagar was nabbed. He was having in his possession three cartons. The cartons were containing ladies garments, shoes, auto parts, bag and the heroin was concealed in the cavities of the goods," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand.
The second carton was having ladies garments and hand bags. 110 gms heroin was recovered from a cavity in a lady hand bag. The third carton was found having auto parts i.E. filters, fan belts and pulleys. The pulleys were found containing 2 kg heroin. The heroin was concealed in the hollow enclosures around the axis of pulleys, he said.
During interrogation, Bright told police that he came to India in February, 2013 on business visa and after expiry of his visa did not return to his country. He started sending garments to his sister from India but did not make enough money.
Around a year back, he came in contract with another Nigerian national involved in drug trade. He procured heroin from this Nigerian National and started sending heroin to his native country by concealing it in cavities of legitimate products. He sent the consignments through courier companies, police said.
