A 33-year-old Nigerian national was arrested for allegedly supplying drugs in the national capital, police said on Monday.
The police have recovered around 150 grams of cocaine, valued at Rs 1.5 crore in the international market, from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Orji Eugene Jideofor, a reisdent of Aninri in Nigeria.
He was presently residing at Chhatarpur and was arrested from Sewak Park near Dwarka Mor on Saturday, where he had come to supply cocaine to another foreign national.
"The accused came to India from Nigeria on a three-month visa in January, 2015 and was staying illegally since his the expiry of his visa," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse.
Investigations revealed that the seized drug was meant to be supplied in pubs, rave parties, concerts and educational institutions. Addicts snort cocaine through the nose, rub it into their gums or dissolve it in water and inject it into the blood stream, the officer added.
Jideofor was produced in a metropolitan court in the city on Sunday and has been remanded to two days police custody, the officer said.
