Based on a complaint from officials of Ambattur Post Office that a man was attempting to send the contraband to foreign countries, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials seized two kg of pseudoephedrine and 100 gram of heroin from the cartons, an official release said.
Identified as Henry Chidi, the Nigerian was attempting to book the parcel for South Africa and Guinea through India Post, the government-run postal system, it said.
Investigations revealed that the man had sent such contraband in a similar way earlier to Canada and South Africa. The seized drugs was valued at Rs 20 lakh in the international market.
