Nine contestants to vie for Miss Tibet title

Nine contestants have been short-listed for this year's Miss Tibet contest and the winner will be crowned on June 4.
The event is being organised by in Mecleodganj by Lobsang Wangyal, a Tibetan journalist, who has been behind the pageant for the last 15 years.
"Ninebeautiful, intelligent and ambitious girls are participating in this year's beauty show, which is the maximum ever for this event," Lobsang told PTI.
The pageant was initiated in 2002.
This year's participating contestant are Chemi Kyizom, 20, from Delhi; Migmar Dolma, 22, from New York; Saldon, 19, from Vienna; Tenzin Khechoe, 22, from Bangalore; Tenzin Nordron, 20, from Chauntra; Tenzin Norzom, 22, from Manali; Tenzin Paldon, 21, from Kollegal; Tenzin Yangkyi, 25, from Byalakuppe and Tenzin Yeshi, 20, from Bylakuppe.
The first round of the competition - the swimsuit round - will take place on June 2.

The 'Talk and Talent' rounds will take place on June 3 and the grand finale will be held on June 4.
The winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, the first runner-up will get Rs 50,000, and the second runner-up will receive Rs 25,000.
"I am thankful to the sponsor of the first prize, Tenzin Charlie of Phurba International, a company based in Taiwan, and to the sponsor of the second prize, Tenpa Dorjee from California," Lobsang said.
