This is also the third highest April monthly production of hot metal since its inception in 2002.
The highest monthly hot metal production was 70330 tonne achieved in March, 2010, a company release said today.
NINL despatched 91922 tonne of pig iron in March, 2017 which is also the highest March despatch of the company, it said.
Execution of the blast furnace capital repair has been planned for the second quarter of the present financial year following which hot metal production is likely to be be more than 3000 tonne per day at its rated capacity, the release said.
NINL is the country's highest exporter of pig iron since 2004.
Presently the products are steel billets, pig iron and LAM Coke along with nut coke, coke breeze, crude tar, ammonium sulphate and granulated slag.
