Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched a logo of a cell for the IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) on Wednesday.
She termed this as "an ambitious task" as India's intellectual property related activities need great traction.
The logo has been designed by the National Institute of Design, while keeping in mind the country's slogan for its national IPR policy focsuing on innovation and creativity.
CIPAM has been created as a professional body under the aegis of DIPP to take forward the implementation of the National IPR Policy that was approved by the government in May 2016.
CIPAM is working towards creating public awareness about IPRs in the country, promoting filing of IPRs through facilitation and providing inventors with a platform to commercialise their IP assets.
