The company will roll out 750 units of the new variant - Micra X-shift - with added style and features as automatic transmission to mark the fifth anniversary of its first locally-made Micra.
Nissan, with only 2 per cent auto market share, is focusing on shipping out Micra manufactured at its Chennai facility and exported close to 90,000 units last year to destinations like Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australia.
With its limited models and 160 outlets, Nissan has plans to take the market share to 5 per cent over the next few years.
Nissan rolled out the Micra in July 2010 from its Chennai plant. Micra is available in over 80 markets and has sold over 6 million units so far.
