A red colour hatch back, "redi-GO" equipped with one litre engine, marking the occasion was rolled out of the assembly line at the company's joint venture factory with Renault at Oragadam situated about 45 kms here.
"The 100,000th roll out of Datsun is a strong testimony of customer acceptance and their confidence towards our brand, products and value based offerings", Nissan Motor India, Managing Director, Jerome Saigot said.
"On behalf of the Datsun India team, I would like to thank all our customers and dealer partners for the commitment towards our brand", he said in a company statement.
"We are very confident that the future is bright and exciting for the Datsun brand in India. We are confident that our challenger brand positioning, unique product differentiation and best in class cost of ownership will continue to drive the customer's owning and experiencing our prodcuts", he added.
Nissan Motor Company announced the relaunch of Datsun brand, the company's third global brand after Nissan and Infinit in March 2012. Nissan sells Datsun in India, Indonesia, Russia and South Africa from 2012.
