Kant, who was here to review Cashless Jharkhand, said that 95 per cent of the state's people have Aadhaar number and now those Aadhaar numbers should be linked with bank accounts to propel digital campaign.
He said that 86 per cent transaction happened through cash which encourages black money, and only one per cent of the population of the country pay tax, which affects the economy, according to the release.
The cashless move would reflect transaction, which in turn would strengthen the country's economy, Kant said.
He said people were apprehensive about computers, and ATMs and mobile phones that these would not function in a country like India.
As people had won over those apprehensions, they would also adopt cashless transactions, Kant said.
