The Sub-Group of Chief Ministers on Rationalisation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes, set up by the NITI Aayog, has submitted the report to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also the Aayog's Chairman.
"The report is being processed by NITI Aayog so that a final decision on its implementation can be taken as soon as possible," Minister for Planning Rao Inderjit Singh told the Lok Sabha during Question Hour.
The panel had made a case for reduction in the number of centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) and hiking flexi fund component to 25 per cent from existing 10 per cent.
It has categorised CSS into three categories - core of the core, core and optional scheme - for determining funding pattern.

For core of the core schemes like MNREGA, the sub-group has suggested no change in the fund sharing between the Centre and states as under the existing arrangement in the rural employment scheme, the funding ratio is 90:10 between the Centre and states.
For ordinary states, the funding should be shared between the Centre and states in the ratio of 60:40 in case of core schemes.
In case of optional schemes, the Centre and states' share should be in the ratio of 80:20 in case of difficult states and 50:50 in case of ordinary states.
