Nitin Kumar stuns Ranjeet

Local boy and current Under-18 national champion Nitin Kumar Sinha today stunned second seed and India number 15 ranked V M Ranjeet in straight sets in the Asian Tennis Tour at Bengal Tennis Association courts here.
Nitin, who had won the U-18 National title both in Chennai and Delhi this year, won 7-5, 6-1.
Nitin broke Ranjeet early and went on to serve at 5-3 where he had two double faults. Ranjeet then leveled the set at 5-5.
But the local lad produced some great attacking ground strokes and broke again at 6-5 to clinch the set 7-5.
In the second set, Nitin took full control of the match breaking Ranjeet early.
In another exciting match of the day, Nitin Kirtane, 43, showed his character as he fought back from 0-5 down in the second set. Nitin came back strongly and went on to win the match in tiebreak.
