"The nature of crime has been changing over time....Under the circumstances, the police too enhance investigation methodology and take up scientific tools for expeditious investigation in such cases," Kumar said while inaugurating the 43rd All India Police Science Congress.
The development in science and technology and arms have been coming handy for the criminals too as reflected in growing cases of cyber crime, the Chief Minister observed and asked the police to take up scientific methods to deal with such cases.
The restoration of law and order situation in the state by the NDA government would not have been possible without a pro-active role played by the police in carrying out the Bihar government's agendas to bring about a peaceful law and order situation, the CM said.
Bihar has topped all states in attaining the highest conviction rate by sending behind bars 79,000 criminals for various offences through speedy trial by the courts, the Chief Minister said and praised the police for their outstanding performance.
He asked the police, particularly, its Economic Offence Wing (EOW), to crack down economic offenders like those running illicit liquor business and undertake legal ways to seize their properties amassed through ill gotten means.
