Addressing rallies in Araria Lok Sabha constituency, where by-polls are scheduled on March 11, the Chief Minister also asserted that his exit from the grand alliance and rejoining the BJP-led NDA was in the best interests of Bihar.
"Some people have an immense hunger for wealth. The one who commits a sin must reap the fruits of what he has sown," Kumar said at the rallies, in an obvious reference to Prasad who has been in jail after being convicted by a CBI court in fodder scam cases.
He also attacked the RJD for its criticism of the ban on sale and consumption of alcohol, saying "When we introduced prohibition and organized a state-wide human chain, they stood beside us holding our hands".
Underscoring that he was seeking votes "on the basis of the performance of my government", Kumar appealed to the people of the Lok Sabha constituency to help BJP candidate of Araria achieve a big victory.

Kumar was accompanied at the rallies, among others, by his deputy Sushil Kumar Modi, who launched a caustic attack on the RJD, especially leader of the opposition in the state assembly Tejashwi Yadav.
"The BJP is being accused by the RJD of framing Lalu Prasad and sending him to jail though he has been punished for his own misdeeds. They should tell the people of Bihar how Tejashwi amassed properties worth thousands of crores at a young age of 28," Sushil said.
