"There was a time when almost 25 per cent of the country's sugar was produced in Bihar...But due to faulty policy of the Centre the industries shifted to western and southern regions," he said inaugurating a sugar production unit at Hajipur.
Bihar lagged behind other regions in industrialisation compared to other areas, he said.
"Our mineral resources were taken to other areas for industrial purposes," he said.
Kumar said his government was promoting industrial growth through an attractive policy, according to an official statement here.
In a dig at RJD President Lalu Prasad, he said, "Some greedy people are saying that not even a thumb pin industry has come up in the state under NDA rule. They need to come to Hajipur industrial area to see industrial growth in the state."
Kumar said there was tremendous scope for development of food processing and farm sectors in Bihar and his government was paying attention towards there growth.
