While condoling the death of the veteran parliamentarian, Kumar while talking to reporters also questioned the sensitivity of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre for not forging a consensus among parties to call off Parliament proceeding today in the wake of Ahamed's death.
"When a MLA had died on the day the newly elected legislators of Bihar in 2015 had to take oath, we after consulting all the parties had called off the proceedings on that day as mark of respect for the departed MLA," Kumar said.
78-year-old Ahamed passed away in the wee hours today at RML Hospital in the national capital.
The MP from Kerala's Mallapuram suffered a cardiac arrest during the President's address to the joint sitting of Parliament yesterday.
