Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the BJP did not have any solution to problems besetting the country, and in the absence of any alternative vision, it was interested only in making Narendra Modi the prime minister.

Kumar, who broke off from the alliance with the BJP over Modi's elevation, said the saffron party had no plan when it came to creating jobs for youths or curbing price rise.

"It merely chants it has to make a person (Narendra Modi) the prime minister," Kumar said.

"BJP, which is reborn in a new avatar, is weaving dreams that the person (Modi) has a magic wand to bring 'swarag' (heaven) on earth," he said sarcastically while canvassing for JD (U) candidate from Jehanabad Anil Kumar Sharma, the real estate baron.

Kumar pooh poohed claims of development in Gujarat and said that the BJP was constantly beating drums about them.

As per media reports, the Gujarat government recently advertised for recruitment of 1,500 persons as revenue officials at the grassroot level at a paltry sum of Rs 5,300 per month, he said.

"It is astonishing that 8.4 lakh persons applied for it ...This is the truth of prosperity in Gujarat," he said sarcastically.

Claiming that he had done enough "good work" in Bihar, Kumar sought "majdoori" (wage) from the people by way of their votes to carry forward the unfinished work.

Former JD(U) MP from Jehanabad Jagdish Sharma, who has been debarred from contesting election following conviction in a fodder scam case, and state minister Vijay Chaudhary also appealed to the people to support Anil Kumar Sharma who is locked in a keen contest with Arun Kumar of Rashtriya Lok Samta party, new ally of the BJP.
