"It was decided at that time (in 2006) to prepare a database of officials, mainly policemen...To help public prosecutors deal with the case speedily," Kumar told a seminar here.
"Due to this, in 2006 a total of 1609 accused were prosecuted under Arms Act. This had helped create a good environment and encouraged people to come forward for testifying as witness," he said in presence of Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, state police chief P K Thakur and others.
The CM said if DGP and Additional Director General of Police took feedback from SPs, disposal of cases can be made faster, he added.
The CM emphasised on proper formulation and timely filing of chargesheet. He advised policemen to talk to public prosecutor beforehand for proper draft of chargesheet.

Kumar said law and order and investigation work have been separated in the state for convenience of policemen.
The CM suggested regular meetings between District Magistrate, District Judge and Superintendent of Police for better coordination in maintaining law and order.
The CM said the with imposition of prohibition more cases are coming and made a personal appeal to public prosecutors to keep special focus towards such cases relating to alcohol ban.
The workshop was organised by the state Home department.
Registrar of the Patna High Court Binod Kumar Singh and Principal Secretary Home Amir Subhani also spoke on the occasion.
