The grant of special category status will reduce the state's contribution in implementation of various Centrally sponsored schemes and in the process there will be more funds at its disposal of the state government to use for development activities, he said at a panel discussion on economic prospects of Bihar organised by a private business channel.
Kumar said his government has created a positive atmosphere for economic development of Bihar and the results were there for all to see as there has been substantial development in infrastructure development with both public funds and on Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) mode.
The state government was also trying hard to improve power situation in Bihar and the expansion works were going on at Kanti and Barauni thermal power plants and the construction of thermal power plant at Barh was going on in full swing, he said.
There will be sufficient power available for domestic and industrial consumption once various power plants at various stages of construction start electricity generation, the Chief Minister said. MORE
