Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today came out in support of his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal and slammed the CBI raid in the CM office by calling it a "breach of decency in the relationship between the Centre and the state government."
"It's a matter of utter surprise. It has breached the decency in the relationship between the Centre and the state government," Kumar told reporters while slamming the NDA government at the Centre for the raid.
"Our federal structure is based on mutual faith and respect for each other. Hence, utmost care should have been taken before taking any such step," Kumar said.
"If there is allegation against somebody, I cannot advocate that it should not be probed. But, inquiry should be done in a proper way," the Bihar Chief Minister said.
"If there is some accusation on somebody it should be probed. But, if you are going to Chief Minister's office, then did he have prior information about it? Is the accusation related to present post of the person concerned?" Kumar asked.
"If there is some past issue which has nothing to do with today's condition, then what message has gone?" he said.
"Such message is dangerous for democratic and federal structure and nobody can support this," Kumar said.
The Bihar CM enjoys good relations with his Delhi counterpart and Kejriwal had attended Kumar's swearing-in ceremony in Patna recently.
