Addressing a news conference, Kumar said that he will tour 32 districts beginning from September 19 to address public meetings, christened as 'Adhikar Sammelan' to demand special category status to Bihar.

He said that he will also visit the remaining six districts after October 14 to mobilise public support on the special category issue.

Kumar appealed to the people to turn up in large numbers at the public meeting in their districts as well as the 'Adhikar Rally' to be held at the historic Gandhi Maidan on November four.

He said that a rally will be held in Delhi in March next year to press for the conferment of special category status to Bihar if the Centre failed to do so earlier.

Under attack from the opposition parties for wasting public money for undertaking tour to the districts to press for a political agenda of his party, the JD(U), the Chief Minister said that he would travel by private vehicle and stay at the accomodation provided by the party workers during his tour of the districts for Adhikar Sammelan.

Stating that he will have to discharge duties as the Chief Minister too during his prolonged tour, Kumar said that that he will work extra hard to do a fair job to both government and party related works.
