The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today demanded the early release of 10 percent Dearness Allowance (DA) due from July last to state government employees and pensioners.
"Government should immediately release 10 percent DA due from July last in favour of state government employees and pensioners in cash as a goodwill gesture," NMC President Subash Shastri said while addressing workers at a function organised in connection with Vishwakarma day here today.
He said the salaried class and pensioners were facing a lot of economic hardship due to high inflation and price hike and release of the said instalment will provide them some financial relief.
Shastri urged the Chief Minister, state Finance Minister and Chief Secretary to take steps in this regard during the next cabinet meeting as the same instalment had already been released by the central as well as several state governments including Haryana, Punjab, Himachal, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat to their employees and pensioners since long.
Delay in release would not only put financial burden on the state government exchequer to liquidate the arrears but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners, he added.
