National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) today joined hands with Rotary India to create awareness about the positive sanitation practices among the students of the schools located along the course of river Ganga.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Mission and Rotary India here.
As per the MoU, the Rotary will reach out to such schools in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal's Nadia district to sensitise students on the "positive health behaviour" under its WASH programme.
"It will undertake activities and campaigns to create awareness in schools and communities about Ganga rejuvenation and thereby reducing the pollution flowing into the river," Union Water Resources Ministry said in a statement.
The MoU, signed by NMCG Director General UP Singh and Rotary India Vice Chairman PT Prabhakar, shall remain in force for two years.
