NMDC draws up blueprint to raise output to 100 MT by 2022

The country's largest iron ore miner NMDC today said it has charted out a growth plan to take its iron ore production to 100 million tonnes (MT) by 2022.
The state-run company's production, at present, stands at about 30 MT.
"NMDC...Organised a two day workshop in Srinagar...The workshop was aimed to draw up NMDC's growth plan to attain production of 100 MT of iron ore by the financial year 2022," the miner said in a filing to the BSE.
The workshop, headed by Narendra Kothari chairman and managing director of NMDC was attended by the top management of the company, it said.
In another filing, the company said its Director (Technical) N K Nanda has been granted extension till June 7 on an ad hoc basis.
"Ministry of Steel...Has communicated that NMDC may comply with the order passed by the High Court at judicature of Hyderabad on April 8, 2015 and continue Nanda in the post of Director (Technical), wef May 18, 2015 till June 7, 2015 or until further communication from the Ministry, whichever is earlier," the filing said.
Meanwhile, the company in a separate filing said that it has bagged prestigious PLATTS global award 2015 in "Industry Leadership Award - Raw Materials and Mining" category in London.
PLATTS is the leading provider for energy, petrochemicals and metals information and a premier source of benchmark prices for those markets.
