The European traffic navigation firm NNG is working on customised solutions, including pre-recorded messages in several local languages, such as Marathi, Tamil and Gujarati, among others for voice guidance, for the Indian market.
Besides, the company is also working on implementation of Indian voice recognition for addresses and point of interest (PoI) or place and address searches in Hindi and other languages, a senior company executive said today.
NNG currently provides traffic navigation solutions to five leading car makers.
"India has always been a very important market for NNG. This is evident in our year-on-year growth last year where the Asian regions were major contributors. To continue this momentum, we are exploring additional opportunities for collaborating with some of the leading OEMs in the country," NNG country manager for India, Prabhakar Mishra said.
"We are currently working with five leading OEMs (original Equipment Makers) besides doing after market services for a number of car brands. We are talking to other OEMs also to offer our navigation solution," he said.
He also said that NNG is working on a number of navigation solutions for the market here, which include pre- recorded voices in Indian languages for voice guidance, implementation of Indian VR for addresses and POI/places search, Indian English text-to-speech, address searches in Hindi, real time online traffic updates, among others.
