The bail petition of Dr Madhukar Kadam was rejected by a sessions court at Sewri in Central Mumbai here.
Amit Sakharkar, an activist, had filed a complaint with Dongri police station alleging that Kadam did not possess BAMS degree.
Opposing the bail plea, Amit's lawyer Navin Choumal alleged that the degree of Ayurved Ratna, claimed to be taken by Kadam from Hindi Sahitya Sammelan at Prayag, was forged.
Amit had also complained to DCP, Zone 1, informing that Kadam was earlier arrested by Economic Offences Wing.
Apprehending arrest, Kadam moved the sessions court seeking anticipatory bail which was refused. However, the court gave him time till June 11 to move the Bombay High Court with a fresh anticipatory bail plea.
Kadam, however, denied the allegations and claimed that he possessed the degree which allowed him to practice.
