No casualty reported; people from Karna return in batches

People from Karnataka stranded in quake-hit Nepal are returning to India in batches through road and special Indian Air Force flights, and there is no information of any casualty to them so far, the state government said today.
A batch of 82 people belonging to Karnataka has reached Delhi in an IAF aircraft, and their return to the state is being facilitated by Karnataka Bhavan in the national capital, Secretary, Disaster Management said in a release.
Officials said Karnataka Bhavan is also rescheduling flight/train tickets for people of Karnataka reaching Delhi from Nepal.
Speaking to reporters at Hubballi, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said there is no information of any casualties from the state so far.
"As per our information, about 200 people from Karnataka were there in Nepal. There is no information of any death or injuries so far," he said.
"We have sent two officials in the morning. Once they reach there, we will get exact information," he said.

State government officials said 35 people from Haralahalli in Mandya district are on their way to Gorakhpur and another batch of 30 people from Belagavi are also on their way to the Indian border.
Meanwhile, a Mangalaru report said a nine-member group of tourists from different parts of Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka, on a visit to Pokhara in Nepal, were safe.
The travel agency which had arranged the trip said it had received a call from the guide accompanying the tourists stating that they were safe and would return to Delhi within two days.
