DMDK chief Vijayakanth today alleged that the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu had not taken any "concrete and effective steps" to promote industrial development in the state even as he castigated it for fixing liquor sales targets which he alleged had "spoilt" the youth.
"The ruling AIADMK has taken no concrete and effective steps to promote the state, like implementing industrial development schemes.
"Also, by fixing liquor sales target for TASMAC (Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation Ltd), the government has spoilt the youth", he said.
Campaigning for votes for the BJP-led alliance party candidate here, Vijayakanth said that successive DMK and AIADMK governments had failed to protect the people in Tamil Nadu.
The DMDK leader sought votes for BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying he would ensure graft-free governance.
But the actor-politician chose to remain silent on ally PMK and its Dharmapuri candidate, Dr Anbumani Ramadoss.
The BJP-led NDA alliance in Tamil Nadu comprises DMDK, MDMK, PMK, IJK and Kongu Party.
