The committee is likely to finalise a panel of candidates by Sunday which will be sent to Central Election Committee headed by party president Sonia Gandhi.
Sources said in today's meeting, the committee decided not to give tickets to those who suffered two consecutive defeats in either assembly polls or municipal elections.
Besides this, the ticket aspirants who lost election by a margin of 10,000 votes will also not be considered, they said adding the committee had already decided not to give ticket to anybody facing serious criminal charges.
The committee has already taken a in-principle decision to give tickets to all sitting MLAs, barring a few who have serious criminal charges against them.

The sources said Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and DPCC President J P Agarwal have already prepared a panel of probable candidates for each of the 28 constituencies where Congress candidates were defeated in 2008 assembly polls.
Besides, Narayansamy, other members of the Screening Committee include Bhubaneshwar Kalita, Shakeel Ahmed, J P Agarwal, Dikshit and Kuldip Nagra.
