No conversion charge from pre-1962 stores

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided not to take any conversion charges from stores operating before 1962 in commercial areas enlisted in the master plan.
The Mayor of NDMC Azad Singh made the announcement today adding that the decision has been arrived at after taking an opinion of the Additional Solicitor-General of India on the issue.
"Commercial areas like Jama Masjid, Chitli Kabbar, Bazar Sitaram, Ajmeri Gate, Chandni Chowk, Fatehpuri, Lajpat Rai Market, Kashmiri Gate, Mori Gate, Malka Ganj, Shabzi Mandi, Bara Hindu Rao, Sadar Bazar, Nabikari, Kadam Sharif, Ram Nagar Paharganj, Madal Basti, Manakpura, Naya Bazar and Jhandewalan Scheme Block-E would be free from the threat of sealing," Singh said in a press conference.
Earlier this year, traders had been asked to submit proof of running their respective trades prior to 1962.
