Chatterjee, however, accepted that there was a presure from his supporters at Katwa, which he represents to join TMC.
Chatterjee, who had recently resigned from all posts in Congress, met party MLAs in the house during the day.
According to the Congress MLAs, CLP leader Md Sohrab and senior party leader Manas Bhunia tried to convince Chatterjee not to join TMC.
