As the mercury continues to rise in the city, students of Lady Hardinge Medical College have threatened to go on mass leave from May 1 if the crisis over lack of drinking water facilities on the campus is not resolved.
In a letter to the director, the students' union said despite repeated requests to the administration, nothing has been done to address the issue.
"We are given assurances every time, which highlights the lacklustre attitude and absence of will on the administration's part in providing for the basic requirement," the medical students said.
"This leaves us with no other choice but to protest against your office," they said in the letter.
