No fitness certificate is to be issued for any vehicle unless the HSRP is affixed, a Spokesman of Transport department said today
The Transport department has already notified that vehicles operating without HSRPs would be challaned with effect from January 1, 2016, the spokesman said.
He said all Regional Transport Authorities should get the vehicle photographed at the time of inspection for issuing fitness certificates. These photographs of vehicles would also capture the number plate of the vehicle and vehicles without HSRP would not be granted fitness certificate.
He said that all the RTA offices would maintain a proper daily record of the number of receipts issued for affixation of HSRPs in all Regional Authority (RA) offices in the districts and the number of HSRPs affixed.
Weekly report would also be sent to the office of Transport Commissioner and Secretary, Transport Department, he added.
