Despite a steep hike in electricity charges, cooking gas and essential commodities, the authorities have decided not to impose the additional financial burden of the inflation on the students, spokesman of the varsity Rahat Abrar said.

"We were compelled to issue this clarification because certain vested interests are trying to spread rumours of a drastic fee hike. These rumours are without any basis and are malicious," the spokesman said.

Abrar further clarified that as far as fees for admission tests was concerned the university has decided to charge the same fees which were applicable in the academic year 2009-10.

He said the admission test fee which was charged in 2011-12, was substantially less than the actual expenditure involved in conducting admission tests.

It is for this reason that the university has reverted to the admission test fee structure which was applicable in the year 2009-10.
