"The tariff for consumers of all categories has been reduced by 37 paise per unit," an official release said here today.
The salient features of this order state that for 'LT industry' with load up to 50 kW, fixed charges where applicable have been reduced from Rs 170/kW to Rs 160/kW, which would benefit 16,728 consumers.
In case of 'HT industry' with load above 50 KW, the fixed charges have been reduced from Rs 200/kVA to Rs 190/kVA, which would benefit 110 consumers.
Besides, the wheeling charges for 'Open Access' consumers have been reduced from 85 paisa per unit to 71 paisa per unit, it said.

'Tatkal' scheme for agriculture power connection has been approved for consumers who had applied after December 31, 2012.
Rebate of five per cent would be allowed for the consumers availing supply through prepaid meters. Apart from this, domestic consumers with a load less than 20 KW in urban areas falling under the Municipal Corporations or Municipal Committees would be given rebate of Rs five per bill.
Consumers whose bill amount is less than Rs 15,000 could pay their bills online directly on the website of the Discoms and avail rebate of Rs five.
It would be mandatory for consumers with bills exceeding Rs 15,000 to pay their bills online through RTGS/NEFT or authorised banks, the release said.
The Discoms have been directed to issue a request to agriculture power consumers whose annual income other than agriculture is more than Rs 20 lakh for voluntarily giving up their agriculture subsidy on electricity.
