With the arrival of last batch of 27 nationals from Basra yesterday, now there is no Indian left in that city with labour issues including non-payment of wages, officials said in the MEA said.
While, 141 Indians arrived on February 18, the rest of the nationals arrived yesterday.
According to sources, "these Indians were facing issue of non-payment of salaries and after hectic efforts by the embassy officials... These workers did not come back initially as they wanted their salaries. Now, the amicable settlements have been worked out."
There are several hundred Indians working in various fields in Iraq including steel mills, oil companies and construction projects.
