No lapse found in Maggi noodles samples in Chandigarh

Chandigarh Administration today issued orders to collect more samples of Maggi noodles even though some samples were found as per food safety standards.
"As per laboratory report, no lapse was found in three samples of Maggi noodles collected from various parts of the city," UT Chandigarh Food Safety Cell, Designated officer, Sukhwinder Singh told PTI here today.
"The samples of Maggi noodles were found in conformity with the food safety standards," he further said.
UT Food Safety Cell had conducted raid on May 23 at three distributors of Maggi noodles in the city and collected three samples for laboratory testing to check the presence of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and lead content.
The raids were conducted one each at industrial area-I, II and Daria village here.
These samples were sent for testing to a government Laboratory at Sector 11 here and the report of testing was received today.

However, official said fresh directions were today issued for conducting raids to collect more samples of Maggi noodles from distributors in the city.
"Our men have gone to collect more samples of Maggi noodles for testing," he said.
Officials went to collect samples from distributors in Sector 35 and Industrial area phase-I, he informed.
