Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today reviewed progress of 'Jang-e-Azaadi' memorial at Kartarpur in Jalandhar district and assured there would be no paucity of funds required for completion of it.
The Chief Minister was updated about the project by Member Secretary of the Jang-e-Azaadi Foundation Dr Barjinder Singh Hamdard, a government spokesman said.
Envisioning the project to be an inspiration for younger generations, Badal said, "Such projects of national importance and emotional values cannot be restricted within the framework of fixed funds."
Badal gave approval to the foundation for engaging the services of eminent film maker Shyam Benegal for production of four films of one hour duration each, depicting events from 1840 to 1948, the spokesman said.
Basic concept of these films and the proposed laser show was to infuse a spirit of patriotism and nationalism among people, especially younger generations, he said.
