A Jat group today warned that they would "block" basic supplies like milk, water, and power to Delhi unless the Centre restores reservation for them under OBC quota which was set aside by the Supreme Court in March this year.
Jat Arakshan Bachao Maha Andolan Chief Coordinator Dharamveer Chaudhary said at a press conference that the Jat reservation has been quashed under a "conspiracy".
The government should get a National Commission for Backward Castes (NCBC) report on the socio-economic condition of the Jats within three to six months and by putting the same before the Supreme Court get the reservation restored, he said.
He invoked the Shah Bano case and said that the government could find a solution through Parliament even without subverting the Supreme Court's verdict.
The group said that they will gherao the Parliament if the government failed to act.
