"The action of demonetisation has been welcomed all over. There was no problem in a state like Goa but it (demonetisation) had little impact at few places in the country where there are less banks," Parrikar said at BJP's Vijay Sankalp rally in Quepem constituency.
He claimed that due to demonetisation Rs 700-800 crore were deposited in various banks.
"Besides this Rs 2 lakh crore to Rs 3 lakh crorewill be collected in the form of tax. This tax would be used for the welfare of common man. Centre will use this tax to provide financial strength to the common people in the country," said Parrikar, a former Chief Minister of Goa.
"If BJP comes to power again in Goa, we can ask for bigger financial help from the Centre for the state. We are already getting good help from the Centre but we can ask for more," said Parrikar.
Elections are scheduled to held in the coastal state in 2017.
