"There is no proposal to hike the tariff. We are making efforts to increase revenue generation by brining down the number of ticketless travellers," she said.

The Chief Minister also appealed to people to buy tickets while travelling on DTC network.

"Around 20 to 30 per cent people don't buy tickets while travelling in DTC buses. If we can make them buy tickets then the revenue position of DTC will improve significantly," Dikshit said.

Following the recent hike of CNG (Compressed and Natural Gas) prices in the capital by Rs.2.90 per kg, the DTC has been pressing for hike in tariff citing their increasing losses.

The CNG costs Rs. 38.35 per kilo in the capital. The auto-rickshaw and taxi unions have also been demanding hike in tariff.
