"BJD will have no truck with BJP and Congress for the 2014 general elections and assembly polls," Patnaik told reporters here.

"It is June 2012 and the general election and assembly polls are about one and half years to go. But let me make it quite clear that my party BJD will have no truck with BJP," he said.

Patnaik said BJD's ties with BJP were over on March 7, 2009, when the party MP Chandan Mitra had left Naveen Niwas before the last general election.

"As far as Congress party is concerned, you know that since the end of 1960, the 'Biju Parivar' which is now BJD ... there is no question of an alliance with them," he said.

On BJD's alliance with Left parties, Patnaik said both CPI and CPI-M did have seat adjustments with BJD in the last elections held in 2009. "And the question is premature as elections are still one and half years away," he said.

Patnaik's statement on possible alliance for 2014 polls much ahead of the general elections left many surprised as the question was on revamping of his party in the aftermath of the 'failed coup bid' against his government.

Speaking on his party, Patnaik said BJD had been working hard to serve the state despite some hurdles. "I have been meeting several persons and institutions regularly," he said indicating BJD was capable to go to elections alone.
