No respite from heat wave in Pb, Hry

Punjab and Haryana experienced no respite today from the scorching heat wave even as maximum temperatures hovered around at normal levels in most parts of the two states.
Bhiwani in Haryana was the hottest place in the region with the mercury settling at 43 degrees Celsius, the MeT department said.
In Haryana, Ambala braved the hot weather at 39.6 degrees while Hisar and Narnaul recorded 41 degrees each.
UT Chandigarh, joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, registered the maximum temperature at 38.7 degrees.
In Punjab, maximum temperature in Amritsar settled at 40.8 degrees while Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum at 39.5 degrees and 39 degress respectively.
The MeT department has predicted partly cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain in few places in Punjab and Haryana within 24 hours.
