No respite from scorching heat in Punjab, Haryana

Amritsar's maximum was five degrees above normal while Ludhiana experienced a hot day at 44.2 deg C, three notches above normal, the MeT officials said here.

Sweltering heat also prevailed in Patiala, with the maximum settling at 43.6 deg C, up by three degrees.

Chandigarh recorded a hot day at 42.3 deg C, up by three notches.

In Haryana, Hisar sizzled at 44 degrees Celsius while Rohtak was hot at 43.6 deg C. Ambala recorded the maximum at the 43.4 deg C, up by three degrees, while Narnaul recorded 43.5 deg Celsius.

The MeT officials have forecast no immediate relief from the scorching heat until tomorrow.
