The Safdarjung observatory, whose recording is considered official for the city, registered a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal.
Areas under Palam, Lodhi Road, Ridge and Ayanagar recorded a maximum temperatures of 42, 40.7, 40.9 and 41.9 degrees respectively, said a Met department official.
The humidity level oscillated between 63 and 27 per cent.
The Met office has forecast overcast conditions for tomorrow.
"The skies will be partly cloudy. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover above 42 and 28 degrees respectively," the weatherman said.
