City cleric Alam Raja Noori said they had submitted a letter at the RSS office in Karwahlo Nagar here on February 14, seeking an appointment of a Muslim delegation with the RSS Chief.
"It's February 16, and they have not responded yet... We hope the Sangh will respond soon," Noori said.
"We would like to ask Bhagwat whether they (RSS) want to develop the nation on the basis of Hindutva or on the basis the Constitution," a Muslim cleric said.
"Some of its (RSS) leaders and affiliates have been repeatedly saying that India is a Hindu nation and Muslims should leave the country... They talk of 'Ghar Wapsi'. Such comments create and deepen divides in the country. We would have liked to draw his attention towards such anti-Muslim utterances," Noori said.
"Sangh talks of keeping the country united. Why then their leaders and other associates make such anti-Muslim comments?" asked Haji Mohammed Salis, the general secretary of Sunni Ulema Council.
