The 42-year-old Arquette and his girlfriend Christina McLarty don't favour ridiculous baby names that are favoured by other celebrities, reported UK Mirror.
"I think we will go with something a little more traditional," he said.
David and Christina say they are settling on something more sentimental.
"I've been a bit cryptic about it. It's going to be the name of my grandfather used to play. He was Cliff Arquette, but that's not the name we are thinking of," he said.
The actor also has a daughter named Coco with ex-wife Courtney Cox.
