No significant changes in mercury despite rains in HP

Several areas of Himachal Pradesh were lashed by rains during past 24 hours but there was no significant change in mercury.
Kumarsein in upper Shimla was wettest in the region with 40 mm of rains, while Mehre in Hamirpur recorded 33 mm of rain, followed by Sundernagar 23 mm, Dharamsala 22 mm, Jubbal 19 mm, Kufri and Pandoh 18 mm each, Paonta Sahib and Nahan 17 mm each, Solan, Dharampur, Kandaghat and Gaggal 13 mm each.
Una remained hottest in the region maximum temperature rising to 41.8 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature staying at 23.8 deg, 4 deg above normal.
Sundernagar recorded maximum temperature at 35.4 deg while Bhuntar recorded a high of 35 deg, followed by Dharamsala, Nahan and Solan 32.8 deg, Shimla 27.9 deg and Kalpa 25.4 deg, few notches above normal.
The minimum night temperatures also remained moderate with Dharamsala and palampur recording a low of 20.8 deg and 20 deg, followed by Sundernagar 19.4 deg, Shimla and Chamba 18 deg, Solan and Bhuntar 17.3 deg and Nahan 14.9 deg C.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or thunderstorm at isolated places in mid and higher hills during next 48 hours.
