"Efforts are on to describe wrongly the government's anti- corruption initiatives. This will be seen as if to protect the corrupt," he said while addressing a passing-out parade at the Police Academy here.
The government's stand is "no compromise" on the issue of corruption. Goons and mafia gangs would also be strongly dealt with, he said.
Vijayan's remarks came after vigilance and anti-corruption bureau had recently initiated searches at the houses of two senior bureaucrats, including Additional Chief Secretary (Labour) Tom Jose, in an alleged disproportionate assests case.
