No student in Goa will be deprived of admission in higher secondary schools and colleges as the state government is constantly monitoring the process, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said here today.
"Whoever has not got admission will have to register their names in all three zones of the education department. Nobody will be deprived of education," he said.
The Chief Minister said he is not in favour of granting permission for setting up additional institutes on the claim that admissions are not available.
Replying to a demand made by a few institutes to start additional classes, Parsekar said, "I don't want to increase the liability of the state. Though I am not here on permanent basis, the state needs to function properly."
He, however, said additional divisions in the existing higher secondary schools and colleges can be permitted "ifthere are sufficient number of students".
"If need be, we will permit the new institution. I am monitoring the situation weekly," he said.
